Who are we?

We are the sector association for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in Spain, bringing together the main ITS stakeholders (authorities and operators) and the organisations that collaborate with them.

Founded in 2002 following the 10th ITS World Congress held in Madrid, we have remained at the heart of the Spanish ITS sector ever since.

Our main mission is to serve as a forum for technical experts from the authorities and operators responsible for ITS to discuss challenges and identify the best ITS solutions in collaboration with leading companies and research centres.

An association dedicated to smart mobility in Spain

Our activities serve as the meeting point around which the Spanish ITS is organised.

Our partners

Our association comprises authorities from all levels of government (Ministry, Directorates-General, autonomous communities and local councils), as well as research and technology centres, private companies that provide or tender for ITS solutions, and associations representing sectors in which ITS plays a significant role.

This enables us to set up committees which give rise to initiatives that are essential for the sector, such as the 159th committee on standardisation, public transport, smart cities, and so on.

AUTHORITIES

They represent public bodies at all levels of government: ministries, autonomous communities, provincial councils and local councils. Their involvement ensures that ITS initiatives are aligned with policies on mobility, sustainability and the digital transformation of transport.

ENGINEERING COMPANIES AND TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATORS

Companies that develop and implement advanced technological solutions for smart mobility. Their expertise is key to integrating traffic management systems, sensors, digital platforms and other tools into ITS projects.

TECHNOLOGY CENTRES AND ASSOCIATIONS

Institutions dedicated to research, innovation and sectoral collaboration. They provide scientific expertise and technical support, and promote cooperation amongst the various stakeholders involved in the development of intelligent transport systems.

OPERATORS

Organisations responsible for the management and operation of public and private transport infrastructure and services. Their involvement in ITS helps to improve operational efficiency and the user experience, and to move towards more sustainable and connected mobility.
