DS4M MOBMODELS as a project

The DS4MOBMODELS project aims to define and create an advanced Mobility Data Space that integrates transport, traffic and journey data across various regions, including Spain, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine–Euskadi–Navarre Euroregion and the Central Region of Portugal. The main objective is to improve the availability, quality and interoperability of mobility data (including the application of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Indicators – SUMI) to address key use cases at national, cross-border, regional and local levels relating to sustainable urban mobility, traffic management and real-time operations within the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).

Results

The project will develop a comprehensive data platform that aggregates various types of data, including public and private sources, across different regions. This data platform will facilitate the integration of various mobility models (micro-, meso- and macro-modelling) and data science tools to enable efficient, safe and sustainable mobility management. The initiative will also establish robust data governance, in accordance with European and national regulations, ensuring secure and interoperable access to data for all stakeholders on a non-discriminatory basis. The main expected outcomes of the project are:

  •  The creation of a unified Mobility Data Space to promote sustainable and efficient mobility in the participating regions.
Improved traffic and transport management capabilities through advanced modelling and the integration of real-time
    data.
  • Greater capacity to monitor and respond to the status of the TEN-T network, including emission levels and traffic patterns.
  • Greater support for public and private stakeholders in the development and implementation of sustainable mobility action plans
    .
Facilitation of cross-border cooperation and data exchange, particularly between Spain, France and Portugal.

This project is in line with the overall objectives of the European Data Strategy, the Digital Europe Programme and the national digital and mobility strategies of Spain and France, contributing to the creation of a more integrated and resilient European mobility infrastructure.
